Over two days from October 31st to November 1st, we held a hall recording experience to celebrate the 10th anniversary of STUDIO 407.
When the campaign was first announced, we were only planning to accept applications for one day, but we received more applications than we expected, so we quickly added another day and made it a two-day event. We wanted as many people as possible to experience hall recording, but we would be grateful if those who unfortunately did not win the lottery would apply again next time.
This was the first time we held this campaign to commemorate the 10th anniversary of STUDIO 407, but we received a great response and hope to hold it again in the future.
All the pianists who participated had a sincere and passionate attitude towards the piano, and we had a very intense time during the recording. We would like to express our gratitude once again, even though we had a short time.
What made a strong impression on me was the radiant expressions on everyone's faces when they first stepped into the hall, and when they listened to the playback of their own performance. For most of the participants, it was their first time recording in a hall, or even their first time recording at all. Seeing their surprised expressions and smiles, I felt that it was really good that we held this campaign.
Even in our short conversation, some of the speakers talked about the difficulties they face when recording their own performances, and how even if they do manage to record, they are worried about not being satisfied with the sound quality. Some speakers also had experience with studio recording, so it was nice to be able to exchange opinions about the final result depending on the recording location.
Both studio recording and hall recording have their own merits, so it is difficult to say which is better, but we hope that by experiencing the sound of hall recording this time, you will be able to use this as a reference for your future productions.
Also, by listening to your own performance objectively, you will be able to get hints for your future performances. Recording is like a full-length mirror. Recording engineers are the kind of people who do their best to create a mirror that is as clear and accurate as possible, reflecting the raw sound as it is. Please feel free to contact us.
Recording piano in a hall can be a big hurdle in terms of cost, and I think many people hesitate to take the plunge. I have worked hard to make hall recording as affordable and affordable as possible. I have tried to lower the general image and psychological hurdles so that people can see that hall recording is not as difficult as they think. I intend to continue making such efforts in the future. Recording is like a full-length mirror, so to speak .
Now, we will introduce a digest of some of the performance videos from participants who gave us permission to post them.
